Please do join us.The Friends' Sponsored WalkThe Friends are organizing a sponsored ramble on Bank Holiday Monday, 26th May. We shall meet at the church at 11.00 a.m. and then take a leisurely walk to Frittenden where lunch and refreshments can be purchased at the Bell and Jorricks. We return by a different route to Staplehurst in the afternoon. Forms available at the back of church. Dogs and children welcome.June 2008Everyman Campaign for Male Cancers - “Keep Your Eye On The Ball” Sponsored RunLast year Roy Barclay, along with his sons Richard and Andrew, took part in the “Keep Your Eye On The Ball” sponsored 5 kilometre run in aid of the Everyman Campaign for Male Cancers and, thanks to those who kindly sponsored us, we together raised more than £400. This year's event takes place on Sunday 1st June in Victoria Park, East London, and we are again taking part. Our aim is to beat last year's sponsorship total (and also improve on last year's times!).The Institute of Cancer Research launched the Everyman Campaign in 1997 in order to raise awareness of male cancers, specifically prostate and testicular cancers, and to fund vital research. All money raised from the “Keep Your Eye On The Ball” run will go to the Everyman Campaign to fund their research. If you can offer help for any part of the day, could you please let me know. There will be a briefing meeting led by Glyn Roberts on Tuesday 17th June at 8.00pm at 1 Vine House High Street Staplehurst for all volunteers. Please note that the carnival is the same day as Lusa's ordination in Canterbury Cathedral (which is 11.00a.m.), so don't double book yourself!
